How do I schedule Boilercast recordings?

If you would like to have your course recorded, you can schedule them through the Boilercast support web page.  Please note that even with the focus on e-learning, your recordings will not be scheduled by default, so you will still need to do it.

Boilercast rooms along with their recording capabilities are listed at https://it.purdue.edu/facilities/classrooms/locations.php.  Please look up the rooms in which you will be teaching and note what recording capabilities it has.  Rooms equipped with a webcam will be capable of Boilercast recordings, Webex, Zoom, or Teams, but the webcam is limited to a single application at a time, so you will not be able to use it for both Webex and Boilercast the same time.

If you have any questions, or would like help getting your course scheduled, please don’t hesitate to contact us at cophelp@purdue.edu.

PLEASE BE AWARE: If you schedule a recording in a capture appliance room (labeled as “all projector sources” on the page above), it will record during the scheduled time whether you’re having class or not.  Please keep this in mind and avoid any private conversations where they can be picked up on the podium microphone and recorded and posted to Brightspace.  Non-capture appliance rooms (Desktop PC Capture) will record when you’re logged into the computer, so please be aware of conversations that may be private while you’re logged in.

NOTE: Although you turn off and put away your wireless mic, the podium microphone will still be recording and your conversation will post to Brightspace.
