How do I connect to the file server/shared drive with a Mac

  1. If you're off campus, create or open a VPN connection to Purdue's VPN server. Specific instructions are available at http://webvpn.purdue.edu/. Note that as of September 14, 2018, the VPN requires 2-factor authentication.  For support issues with the VPN, please contact Purdue IT directly by calling 49-44000 or e-mailing it@purdue.edu.
  2. While in the finder, press command-k to "Connect to a server".  This will bring up a dialog box, the appearance of which will vary depending on your version of OS X. Enter smb://fs.pharmacy.purdue.edu for the Server Address, then click on the "Connect" button.
  3. The authentication dialog box will appear. Enter your username as boilerad\YourCareerAccountUsername and your career account password for the password.
  4. You will return to the file share selection dialog. You can select either the Shared drive, or your User drive and connect. The file share should mount to your desktop.
  5. You can repeat these instructions to mount each drive you have access to.
